Each student enrolled with Academic Advantage Tutoring is tested in Reading and in Math to provide the best academic results for each student in the shortest period of time possible. We do not lock students into contracts. All tutoring is individualized with each student. Tutors work with students to make sure students are learning and retaining information and not just memorizing for short term results. Comprehensive Diagnostic Testing allows the Tutor to know student weaknesses up front for optimal remediation and academic tutoring results. We enroll all Grades and Ages from Pre-K through Adult.
We test in 13 different areas of Math. Remediation in these basic skills will help your child become successful in school math courses. Our program builds a strong math foundation for students. Students struggle in math due to gaps in learning. By learning information that was missed or not clearly understood, will help the students succeed in current math subjects. We will also tutor students in remediation in conjunction with their current level school math course and provide homework assistance. It is important for students to understand current school math concepts while filling in missing academic gaps. We tutor in all areas of math and subjects from Pre-K through College Level Math courses.
Summer is a great time to complete Reading and Math Remediation. Students can focus without the worry of daily classwork and homework assignments. When students make improvements in basic Reading, Writing, English and Math Skills, improvement in grades is seen during the school year.
We test student students in Reading, Vocabulary, Phonics, Word Comprehension and Passage Comprehension. Our reading program has helped many struggling readers with all of the above including reading fluency, spelling and speed reading. Students who are weak in reading can also have difficulty in comprehending math word problems and problem solving in Chemistry and other Science courses. Weaknesses in reading comprehension can hinder student in Social Studies and English/Language Arts courses.
Recommendations of course sessions are made based upon student diagnostic testing results. Our goal is to work with students to obtain improvement of at least one grade level with the goal of getting student achievement above level to work ahead of current class work to instill student confidence and knowledge in the classroom. These goals can be reached with consistent attendance of sessions for student retention and practice.
